Delaware Real Estate Agent / Broker Continuing Education Requirements
Requirements Overview
The Delaware Real Estate Commission requires 21 hours of continuing education per biennial cycle, due by April 30 of even-numbered years. All 21 hours are organized into seven 3-hour modules: six mandatory and one elective. The mandatory modules cover Agency and Fair Housing, Professional Standards, Real Estate Documents, Office Management, Legislative Issues, and Practices of Real Estate. The same requirements apply to salespersons, associate brokers, and brokers.
First-renewal licensees receive prorated requirements based on their license issuance date. For example, a licensee issued between November 1 and January 1 of an even year owes 0 CE hours for their first renewal, while those issued between January 1 and May 1 of an even year owe the full 21 hours.
New salespersons have a separate 12-hour new licensee education requirement due within 90 days of issuance. CE documentation should not be uploaded to DELPROS unless notified of an audit selection.

Tips for Delaware Real Estate Agents
- Since all 21 hours are pre-structured into specific modules, plan to take one module at a time rather than shopping for individual courses.
- Check your license issuance date carefully — first-renewal CE is prorated, and you may owe fewer (or zero) hours depending on when you were licensed.
- Do not upload CE certificates to DELPROS proactively; only submit documentation if selected for an audit.
- Mark your calendar for April 30 of even-numbered years — the renewal deadline is firm and late fees are steep ($210 for salespersons, $357 for brokers).
